Important Disclosure
Our team has extensive experience performing technical repairs and system recoveries on hundreds of Microsoft Surface devices. We want to be transparent about one important limitation: some Surface Pro 4 models currently on the market have a defective touchscreen due to a WinPE bug. This USB recovery drive will not fix or repair hardware-related issues.
However, if your Surface Pro was previously functioning properly, the recovery process will restore it to full working condition. The recovery addresses software and driver issues, not physical hardware defects.
How to Perform the Recovery
- Power off your Surface Pro completely.
- Insert the USB Bootable flash drive into an available USB port.
- Hold down the Volume Down button on your device.
- While continuing to hold the Volume Down button, press the Power button.
- Keep holding the Volume Down button until the blue recovery screen appears (see photo #2 for reference).
- Select your language (US), then choose "Recover from a drive."
- Select "Fully clean the drive" and click the Recover button.
Once you click Recover, the process will begin. Your Surface Pro will be completely wiped and restored to its original factory settings. After the recovery completes, your system will automatically restart and begin installing all necessary software, drivers, and firmware updates.
